My name is Larry L. Turner, I am an ordained Minister, Pastor and Director of a Faith based Community Out-Reach Ministry, New Creation Overcomers. This Ministry originated and is based here in Charlotte, North Carolina. New Creation Overcomers Ministries is a church where the Word of God is made clear and practical so individuals may understand how to apply it on a daily basis in their lives. We are also a community based nonprofit charitable 501c3 outreach ministry committed to helping people with life controlling issues.

The Ministry’s Out-Reach Programs:
Program #1 My wife - Karen Shaw and I started this Out-Reach Ministry with our first Radio Show "Give Up Dope & Get Hope". As a team, we would recruit people from off the street to come on our show to share their personal stories, struggles and triumphs. Their stories entailed issues concerning the disease of addiction and their Twelve Step Recovery Program. As we pursued our mission, the Ministry has seen an increasing number of addicted individuals who have had spiritual emptiness, that void needed to be filled with the love of Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord. Our Church was started to serve and minister not only for spiritual growth, but to help those with addictions and drug problems. We moved into our first Church building right off of Ashley Road to have services and meetings, Give Up Dope & Get Hope and Bible Study.

Program #2 One day, as I was walking down the street passing out Church flyers, I was blessed to meet a wonderful lady walking with her son to the store. I personally invited her to Church and she stated she was a Minister that loves to work with children, I also informed her about our "Youth Development Program" and since then she – Evangelist Tami has been a faithful member and pastor here at the ministry and an indispensable developmental part of the ministry.
As our Church grew, so did the number of the children attending our services as well, creating an immediate need for homework assistance and academic skills development. This vital need for the children launched our "Youth Development Program" and we were awarded a federal grant through 21st Century. The resources from this grant enabled us to hire Mecklenburg County school teachers serving over a hundred children. Our Youth Development Program reinforces their educational curriculum, recreation, career opportunities, family therapy, drugs and gang awareness.

Program #3 As we expanded, we have discovered many adults who are illiterate in reading, math and other vital areas as well. Therefore, we began to recruit adult volunteers to help tutor adults and the parents of our children. This area of need to assist and help both adults and parents birthed "Higher Learning Community Out-Reach Center". We truly believe and envisioned that the need of people served determines this Ministry, New Creation Overcomers.
